In the past year alone, Air America has lost almost half of its already dismal share of the New York talk radio market. It will soon lose its New York station, WLIB-AM.
On August 31, 2006, WLIB will no longer be carrying Air America broadcasts. An Air America Radio spokesman says, "To be clear, Air America will not go silent on the New York City airwaves."
Whether or not Air America will in the future be broadcasting from a bootleg transmitter in the back of a Chevy van is, at this time, unclear.
