Woods Fund gave $6000 grant to Reverend Wright's church in Obama's name
During last week's Democratic Party presidential debate, BarackObama offered up the following brush-off attempt in response to revelations concerning his relationship with former bomb-making Weather Underground terrorist and anti-US radical Bill Ayers:
“This is a guy who lives in my neighborhood, who's a professor of English in Chicago who I know and who I have not received some official endorsement from. He's not somebody who I exchange ideas from on a regular basis. And the notion that somehow as a consequence of me knowing somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago, when I was 8 years old, somehow reflects on me and my values doesn't make much sense.”
Uh-huh.
The facts indicate that Ayers is not just "some guy" who lives in Obama's neighborhood -- Obama has had a close relationship with him and his Weather Underground terrorist wife Bernardine Dohrn, for years. And it is quite disingenuous of Obama to refer to his friend Bill Ayers as an "English" professor when he well knows that Ayers is a Professor of Education.
Obama and Ayers worked together for three years on the board of the far-Left Woods Fund, a philanthropic foundation that bankrolls leftwing and radical causes and organizations, including the Arab American Action Network, which supports the terrorist group Hamas. Ayers, along with indicted businessman Tony Rezko, helped engineer Obama's successful Senate run. Ayers held at least one BarackObama campaign fundraiser at his home and made a small cash contribution to Obama in 2001.
It is interesting to note that in 2001, while Bill Ayers and BarackObama were both serving as Woods Fund directors, the Fund made a $6000 "discretionary grant in recognition of BarackObama's contribution of services to the Woods Fund as a director" to Trinity United Church of Christ. In other words, BarackObama selected Trinity United Church of Christ as the beneficiary of a $6000 grant awarded in his name.
Until recently, Trinity was led by anti-American racist Pastor Jeremiah Wright, Obama's self-professed long-time mentor and spiritual advisor.
Below is a page from the Woods Fund 2001 annual report, with the Trinity Church grant highlighted. The 2001 annual report, along with all others issued while Obama served on the Woods Fund, have been removed from the Woods Fund website. Nevertheless, I have copies of them all.
